John Sr. (b.1926-d.1998) was born in Rutherford County, Tennessee, to the union of Ross and Kattie M. Buttler-Buchanan. John married Louise Arnold, and from their union., six children were born: Rita D., John E. Jr., Ronza, Ernestine, Perry, and Devita Buchanan.
